Linen Room Assistant

      I.                Summary of Position

Coordinates the procurement, distribution, inventory and processing of general linen and laundry for the hospital and nursing home.

    II.                Primary Job Responsibilities

These requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required of the position. Primary job responsibilities constitute approximately 90% of the positions work. To be successful, individuals must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. ·      Conducts inventory discarding any old or torn linen rewashing any soiled linen ordering and receives linen daily.

·      Weighs and cleans laundry using the correct formulation of cleaning products as needed for facility curtains and drapes, patients and staff clothing and nursing home residents.

·      Labels nursing home resident’s personal laundry.

·      Acts as contact for Nursing Home Activities Director regarding resident’s laundry.

·      Cleans, restocks, maintains, and stores all cleaning equipment and supplies at the completion of each shift.

·      Washes equipment and keeps area free from dirt and spillage; reporting unusual equipment issues to the Engineering Department.

·      Assumes charge role on weekends and performs Environmental Services Associate role during the weekdays.

    V.                Minimum Qualifications

Education, Training & Experience

Ninth grade completion required.  Minimum of one year experience in commercial, non-residential linen distribution preferred.

• Ability to safely work with cleaning chemicals and operate environmental services equipment.
