Title: Custodian Level 2 Reports to: Custodian Leader and Building Principal Qualifications and Responsibilities: 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent (i.e., GED) 2. Respond to all internal and external requests for assistance from staff, students and community members related to position in a prompt, efficient, friendly and courteous manner. 3.
Ability to communicate effectively. 4. Be responsible, reliable and punctual. 5.
Maintain respectful and courteous relationships with staff, students and community members. 6. Adhere to dress code appropriate for the site and job. 7.
Adhere to schedule for routine tasks and assigned responsibilities, including extra curricular and community activities. 8. Be proactive in responding to issues. 9.
Exercise positive problem solving behavior and conflict resolution skills in dealing with non-routine or non-scheduled events. 10. Initiative and ability to work with general direction; sound judgment and decision making capabilities are essential. 11.

Cleans buildings by sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, sealing, buffing, washing rooms, vacuuming, washing windows and glass doors, etc. 2. Clean, wash and move furniture. 3.
Perform minor maintenance and repairs, i.e., replace light bulbs and screws. 4. Trash removal, empty receptacles and replace bag. 5.
Recycle. 6. Clean and disinfect bathrooms, locker rooms and stock with necessary supplies and paper goods. 7.
Cleans drinking fountains, spills and accidents, which may involve bodily fluids.8. Ability to demonstrate and adhere to protocols for chemical, fluids, cleaners and equipment. 9. Attend and participate in training sessions.
10. Learn and practice acceptable cleaning methods. 11. Acquire skills and operate cleaning equipment.
12. Work athletic events or other school activities inside or out, work may include setup, take down, cleanup, trash removal, etc. 13. Keeps all custodial areas clean, neat and orderly.
14. Maintain security and safety during school functions, including opening and closing building and responding to safety issues such as snow and ice on walkways. 15. Secure and lock school buildings.
16. Handle emergency custodial duties for staff, students and community members. 17. Regulates heat, ventilation and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water and electric.
18. Perform other duties which may be assigned by the building administrator, lead custodian. Duties may be delegated where appropriate. 19.
Reasonability for securing the facility after completion of shift cleaning. 20. Demonstrated the ability to clean and wax floors that meet our expectation. Physical Requirements: 1.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs. 2. Ability to pick up and carry at least 65 pounds. 3.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. 4. Ability to work using scaffolding, mechanical lifts and district vehicles. 5.
Ability to shovel snow, ice and dirt. 6. Ability to lift and reach above head. 7.
Ability to tolerate exposure to cleaning, chemicals and compounds. 8. Ability to communicate effectively. Terms of employment: As per WMEA Support Staff Agreement Evaluation: Principal will evaluate annually in collaboration with Custodian Leader.
