What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech and Language Assistant, Certified position at SAU 80, Shaker Regional School District?
To provide speech therapy services for children in grades preschool to grade 12 under the direction and supervision of a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist and the Director of Student Services. Have an understanding of current knowledge of principles and practice of Speech-Language Pathology and knowledge of student teaching techniques.
Duties include:
1. Carry out the speech therapy plan
2. Instruct, motivate, and assist student learning
3. Observe, record, and report to the Speech-Language Pathologist
4. Coordinate care by communicating with team members, both verbally and written, and attending case conferences and meetings, as necessary
5. Participate in in-service education programs as requested
Experience required. SLA license preferred.
