Work Schedule:
- 4 shifts per month, 12 hours each, with a 30-minute lunch break.
- Rotation every four (4) months, schedules tailored to meet department demands.
- Flexible duty hours designed by the Labor and Delivery Flight Commander or designee.
- Shifts available in both Days (0545 – 1815) and Nights (1745 – 0615).
Minimum Qualifications (Applicants must meet the following requirements):
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Associate Degree of Nursing considered with relevant Labor and Delivery inpatient experience.
- Experience: 2 years in an inpatient setting, with the last 12 months focused on Labor and Delivery nursing.
- Licensure: Must hold a current, unrestricted RN license from any state.
- Life Support Certifications: Required certifications include ARC or AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and either Intermediate or Advanced fetal monitoring (AWHONN). S.T.A.B.L.E certification also needed, to be completed within 6 months of hire.
- Security: Successful Government background check and security clearance required
Core Duties:
- Proficiency in professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures for comprehensive women's and newborn care in diverse settings, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care.
- Expertise in a wide range of medical conditions, including premature birth, fetal death, forceps delivery, C-sections, and knowledge of normal deliveries and complications, with the ability to provide appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Familiarity with various pharmacological agents, their effects, side effects, and accurate administration, including dosage calculations.
- Basic computer skills for patient data entry and retrieval from government medical sites like Military Health System (MHS) Electronic Health Record (EHR) GENESIS.
- Timely medical records documentation within 72 business hours of patient encounters.
