JOB TITLE: Field Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Sales & Marketing

REPORTS TO: Merchandising Manager

Part Time Seasonal: March through September

Weekly car allowance | Monthly phone allowance

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision by the Merchandising Manager, the Field Coordinator oversees and helps Merchandisers in Meijer garden centers. Drives sales by ensuring that Merchandisers maintain displays and care for plants in retail centers. This includes working with merchandisers to choose and display effective merchandising layouts, optimal product mix, proper spacing, and watering of plants. Ensures that display standards are met. Actively putting away shipments of product onto table’s with merchandisers on an as consistent basis. Positively communicates with Merchandisers and internal and external contacts as necessary for successful completion of job duties. When present in retail centers, greets clients, store employees and Merchandisers in a professional and courteous manner and assists them as needed. Requires travel to various retail stores within assigned territory which can include locations within multiple states. Performs other duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversees and participates in the merchandising of perennials at retail location.
• Provides and preforms hands on training to merchandisers by offloading product onto tables, offers education, guidance and problem-solving support to merchandisers.
• Assists merchandisers with putting away weekly shipment carts onto the tables, culling product as needed, choosing and making effective merchandising displays.
• Ability to put away shipments of product onto tables independently as needed.
• Putting up and maintaining corporate signage and ensuring that display standards meet established guidelines.
• Supervise and work alongside merchandisers. Prepares and conducts performance reviews, discipline, and other supervisory functions as needed including but not limited to payroll data, workers’ compensation and safety reporting.
• Assists retail centers in maximizing live goods sales. Maintains a basic knowledge of plant care and maintenance. Performs watering, pruning and basic care to ensure products are healthy and visually appealing.
• Greets customers, vendors and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
• Works with account managers, logistics and inventory staff to ensure that shipments are maximized (shelf height adjusted properly, racks are full, etc.).
• Assists with clerical support tasks as needed. Reviews documentation and/or distributes to appropriate departments to maintain operational flow.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of company goals and objectives. Travel between retail centers is required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma; or equivalent.
• One-year related work experience.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions and organize priorities/workload as needed.
• Proficiency with computer, Internet, telephone and any tools or equipment related to job.
• Demonstrated ability to manage live goods which includes bending, twisting, and lifting in order to prune, water, lift, move, arrange and display live good products which can weigh up to 40 lbs.
• Demonstrated strong communication and negotiation skills to interact with internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner.
• Ability to supervise employees and handle matters confidential matters discreetly.
• Ability to pull/push carts of live good products.
• Ability to off load carts and put away shipments of live good products
• Ability to travel as often as needed in order to care for plants within retail center(s) within assigned sales territory.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $15.00 per hour
