POSITION TITLE: PARTS DELIVERY/CONSULTANT
DEPARTMENT: PARTS
REPORTS TO: PARTS MANAGER
PURPOSE:
Coordinate parts receiving and delivery Handle retail and wholesale parts requests at the counter for internal and external customers. Parts consultant should be knowledgeable about parts inventory and catalog system and capable of assisting internal and external customers both in person, on the phone and online.
DELIVERY DUTIES
- Deliver and pick up parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, and vendors.
- Help unload parts delivery trucks.
- Count, weigh or measure items in incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
- Affix shipping labels and postage on packed cartons.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Operate forklift.
- Ensure that outgoing shipments meet specifications.
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Assist in parts returns.
- Add new parts to inventory in proper bin location.
- Assist in putting up stock.
- Assist in maintenance of bins and equipment.
- Assist in arrangement of department, including movement of bins as needed.
- Other tasks as required/assigned.
CONSULTANT DUTIES:
- Greet internal/external customers promptly and courteously. Handle parts request in a timely manner and make sure of proper parts selection.
- Answer phone calls promptly and courteously.
- Recommend related parts while customer is at counter as appropriate.
- Deliver part to customer at counter or outside if necessary.
- Help manage customer special orders and back-orders.
- Advise customer or Service Advisor on receipt of special ordered parts.
- Tag, handle paperwork, and maintain inventory of warranty parts to be held for scrapping.
- Assist service advisors on job estimates and costing of parts on repair orders as appropriate.
- Become efficient at using parts catalog system.
- Accurately complete entry and relief of sales from inventory.
- Check invoices against stock received as instructed by Parts Manager.
- Assist with inventory counts as instructed.
- Maintain and update bin labels as required or appropriate. Clean, update, or change parts displays as directed
Perform other duties as required by management. QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED and BS or BA in related field desired.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sales skills are required. Must have the ability to present products in a professional manner and deal with multiple customers.
- Maintain a professional personal appearance and work space.
- Must have computer and technology knowledge and be willing to learn new programs.
- Technical background such as technician training, ASE, etc. beneficial but not required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
- Be willing to learn forklift operations.
- Must be able to lift heavy loads without restrictions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $4,000.00 - $5,000.00 per month
