Sayres, a distinguished leader in defense support services to the DOD in the shipbuilding industry, is currently seeking an experienced Senior-EOSH Environmental Occupational Safety and Health Engineer with a current SECRET clearance, verifiable in DISS in Washington, DC. This position may offer remote and/or hybrid work arrangements based on customer discretion.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior-EOSH Environmental Occupational Safety and Health Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting Human Systems Integration (HSI) across all ships/system boundaries and interfaces in the shipbuilding industry. Your expertise will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, with a primary focus on human factors engineering, human performance, manpower, personnel, survivability, system safety, training, and quality of life related to ship and system design. Additionally, you will provide support for environmental and system safety. Your duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Implement Environmental and Safety Requirements: Assist and prepare recommendations to programmatic and technical authorities to ensure compliance with DoD, SECNAV, OPNAV, and NAVSEA system environmental and safety requirements and policies.

2. Systems Engineering Support: Provide system safety input to the program's Systems Engineering Plan (SEP), Programmatic Environment Safety and Health Evaluation (PESHE), system requirements, statements of work/statements of objectives, and RFPs.

3. Contractor Safety Product Review: Review safety products delivered by contractors and provide feedback on adequacy, gaps, and issues.

4. Program Document Development: Develop essential program documents, such as the System Safety Program Plan (SSPP) and the Hazardous Materials Management Program Plan (HMMP).

Additional Duties:

5. Conduct Safety Audits: Perform safety audits and assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.

6. Training and Education: Conduct safety training for shipbuilding personnel and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

7. Risk Management: Implement risk management processes to identify, assess, and mitigate safety-related risks.

8. Emergency Response Planning: Assist in developing emergency response plans and procedures for shipboard environments.

Preferred Specialization:

9. Navy Procedures and Policies: Familiarity with DoD 5000 process, Navy procedures, and policies related to shipbuilding.

10. Foreign Military Sales: Knowledge of Foreign Military Sales processes and procedures.

11. Military Sealift Command: Understanding of Military Sealift Command procedures and processes.

Qualifications & Clearance Requirements:

Minimum Skill Sets of Qualified Candidates:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Management discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in DoD/DoN program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management.
- Active Secret Clearance verifiable in DISS.
- Experience with Navy procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process); experience communicating with SES/Flag level personnel; supervisory experience; ship building experience.

Preferred Skill Sets of Qualified Candidates:

- Master's degree in Engineering or Business Management discipline.
- Professional Engineer License.
- 15 years of experience in DoD/DoN program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management.
