Position Summary:
Seeking a Network Engineer III to join the Enterprise Network Management team. This team manages and supports observability tools, conducts network troubleshooting, analyzes performance metrics, and provides escalation support across enterprise and data center networks. The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on network professional with strong problem-solving skills, deep understanding of packet capture tools like NetScout, and experience working in complex, cross-functional environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support NetScout to provide deep network visibility and enable efficient troubleshooting.
- Perform packet capture analysis and interpretation using NetScout and other related tools.
- Collaborate with network engineers and operational teams to drive root cause analysis and resolve performance or availability issues.
- Champion observability practices, encouraging teams to leverage monitoring tools effectively and improve visibility into network health.
- Support core networking technologies, including routing, switching, WAN, MPLS, and F5 load balancers.
- Contribute to operational network management, including incident escalation, metric collection, and tool administration.
- Participate in a rotational on-call support schedule after onboarding (typically every 12–14 weeks).
- Research and implement improvements around network automation and scripting.
Required Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of professional experience in networking and/or network operations.
- Hands-on experience with packet capture tools, particularly NetScout.
- Deep knowledge of enterprise networking including LAN/WAN, MPLS, routing, switching, and load balancing.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot network performance issues using detailed diagnostics.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently in complex technical environments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineering, operations, and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Linux-based systems and scripting tools (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Experience with wireless networking, DHCP/DNS/IPAM, and infrastructure observability platforms.
- Previous experience in large enterprise or utility-scale environments.
