What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Manager position at SC Staffing, Inc.?
Seeking a Research and Governance Program Manager for a six-month temporary maternity cover from March 2024 to September 2024. The candidate would preferably be based in our Washington DC office, but it is not required. This position will play a key role in managing initiatives including research, events, tech, and policy outreach, with a core focus on developing and promoting academic partnerships. The Program Manager will work in close collaboration with the global team and under the guidance of the Head of Strategic Insights. This is a unique opportunity to advance responsible technology in a fast-paced, international environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- 70% - Manage partnerships with Georgetown University, Sciences Po, and Stanford University, liaise with counterparts at these institutions to ensure the impact of funded research outcomes and generate content based on research outcomes. Facilitate communication and cooperation framework among partner universities through quarterly network meetings, regular written updates, and ad hoc meetings. Socialize funded research amongst Fellows. Solicit, co-draft, and review blog posts and research articles from Fellows in line with themes. Synthesize and analyze the output of academic partners into documents, governance briefs, research reports, blog posts, and other items intended for external audiences.
- 20% - Manage domestic and international outreach among governments, businesses, investors, technologists, civil society, and academia outside of our immediate network as it pertains to promoting academic partnerships and funded research outcomes. Facilitate university partner engagement with policymakers, Alliance members, and other priority audiences, including planning and logistical support for events.
- 10% - Working across the environment (e.g. team, Alliance, Ecosystem, etc.) on the overall success of its goals. Supporting campaigns and initiatives, as they are defined. This includes contributing to shaping communications material or other content. Creating synergies internally to further the mission. Adhering to and promoting the values of the organization. Other tasks as commensurate with the role.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
An advanced degree in international relations, public policy, political science, or a similar field. A minimum of two years of relevant experience in research, coordination, and/or policy analysis and advice. Ability to synthesize complex results and present them to a non-specialist audience.
