Summary/ Objective:

The Counter Sales Representative is primarily responsible for managing direct customer requests and selling Schaedler Yesco Distribution products in a direct, retail setting with the goal of promoting sales growth and profitability.

Essential Functions:

• Counter Sales Representatives will understand and promote the Schaedler Yesco Vision, Mission, and Values.
• Provide each customer with a high level of customer service in line with our brand promise, “Experience the Difference”.
• Assist customers directly in-store, over the phone, and via e-mail correspondence, prioritizing accurate and timely communication.
• Apply the Schaedler Yesco Way to all customer interactions, be it in person or over the telephone.
• Assist with locating items housed in inventory but not on the sales floor.
• When necessary, partner directly with departments for specialty orders, i.e.: wire or conduit.
• Partner directly with Will Call personnel to coordinate future pick-ups. Communicate accurate timeframes to customers.
• Utilize Eclipse to:
  • Locate customer account information
  • Locate product locations and quantities
  • Order products as needed
  • Communicate with Schaedler Yesco personnel as needed in support of customer orders.
• Process payment for products sold via cash, card, or Schaedler Yesco Distribution credit account. Apply for appropriate PO numbers when necessary.
• Restock the sales floor with replenishment stock as needed, when not actively engaged with a customer.
• Ensure that the Counters and sales floor remain clean, and organized to create a favorable experience for customers.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive and/or customer-related information.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with good sales tactics.
• Ability to prioritize work based on customer need(s).
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
• Willingness to seek continual education regarding newly available products.

Supervisor Responsibility

• This position is not a supervisory role and does not have any direct reports.

Work Environment

• This position operates primarily in a Counter i.e., a retail location. This position requires the use of such equipment as computers, the internet, phones, and point-of-sale technology.

• Able and willing to collaborate with different Schaedler Yesco Distribution departments as needed to meet customer needs.

• Ability to make sound decisions that are based upon ensuring customer satisfaction, while in accordance with Schaedler Yesco Distribution guidelines and practices.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

• Lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Work on their feet for prolonged periods of time.
• Safely traverse the warehouse floor when applicable.
• Ability to use a keyboard and type proficiently.
• Talk and hear, both in-person and via telephone.,
• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel:

Travel is not a daily requirement of this job. Travel to training and/or company events, when applicable may be necessary.

Clearances and Certifications:

• U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status is required.

Education and Experience:

• Previous experience working in electrical sales or distribution is required.
• Must have experience utilizing Microsoft Office products.
• Previous experience working in a retail or sales environment is preferred.
