The Schaumburg Boomers are seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated students to be a part of the 2025 season. As an intern, you will obtain first-hand experience in the entire operation of a successful professional baseball franchise.
The Schaumburg Boomers are seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated students to be a part of the 2025 season. As an intern, you will obtain first-hand experience in the entire operation of a successful professional baseball franchise.
A Baseball Operations/Baseball Analytics Intern would primarily assist the baseball operations department in various roles in the clubhouse and around the ballpark.
Every day is different with the boomers, but a typical day might include:
- Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the clubhouse operations with the clubhouse manager.
- Working with the director of baseball operations with behind the scenes preperation on gamedays and ensuring inventory is kept up to date
- Working with the coaching staff prior to, during, and after home games.
- Assisting with general office duties and tasks
- Chart all 48 home games using trackman interface and upload data to baseball cloud
- Clean and organize data using Excel post game
- Communicate with coaching staff to ensure accurate data entry
- Create and submit post-game reports
- Help with the day-to-day function of the organization. You might be asked to do any number of things; it’s part of the all-inclusive experience!
- Non-gameday hours will be discussed at beginning of internship
- All interns will participate in various community events, parades, tabling events, etc.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of baseball in general and in an analytic setting
- Must be able to recognize pitch types from dugout
- Strong computer proficiency and the ability to learn and adapty on the fly
- Strong verbal communication skills and detail oriented

- Are able to work all 50 home games, extended hours are required on game days.
- Non-game day hours required as well
- Are highly motivated with a strong work ethic
- Have strong organizational skills
- Strong desire to work in a team environment
