Overview:
The Campus Logistics Routing Coordinator role focuses on problem-solving and coordinating shipping logistics for Scheels stores, ensuring efficient movement of products in and out of locations. The job involves analyzing the best shipping methods, coordinating with vendors and the internal logistics team, and troubleshooting transit-related issues.
Responsibilities:
- Shipping Method Analysis: Evaluating the most effective method (small package, LTL, or FTL) for product shipments.
- Coordination of BOLs: Setting up Bills of Lading for LTL or FTL shipments to stores or warehouses.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the logistics team, vendors, and stores to manage shipping plans and resolve any issues that arise. Additionally, you will have periodic opportunities to partner with other teams within Operations to contribute to cross-functional projects and enhance overall efficiency.
- Vendor & Freight Compliance: Ensuring vendors adhere to shipping windows, protocols, and guidelines.
- Claims Management: Filing damage or shortage claims and resolving freight-related issues.
- Tracking & Communication: Monitoring product movement, updating stores on inbound shipments, and providing estimated arrival dates.
- Variance Audit: Review shipping cost variances to check if they are fair. If the updated rates are found to be unfair, file a dispute with the carrier.
- Analytics: Periodically compile data to support decisions about carriers and shipping practices.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, alongside the ability to manage various logistics tasks and resolve shipment issues in a timely manner.

Education & Experience:
Ideal candidates will have experience routing freight or a rudimentary understanding of logistics terminology and practices, however this is not required. In addition, they should be proficient with basic math/excel functions, have great communication skills and be detail oriented.
