What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Sales Representative position at Schiffs Restaurant Service?
Wholesale and retail food distribution company, is looking to add to our sales team. We’re looking for a results-driven sales representative to actively seek out and engage customer prospects for our wholesale food service business here at Schiff's. You will be responsible for selling food products to local restaurants, institutions, etc.
You will provide complete and appropriate solutions for every customer in order to boost top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels and profitability.
The sales representative position starts on a salary pay-scale for the first six months, and then converts to a commission based pay with opportunity for growth.
Responsibilities
- Present, promote and sell food products to restaurants, institutions, event planners, etc. using solid arguments.
- Develop new markets and accounts by utilizing the current relationships and building new relationships in the food service channel.
- Manage and develop new customers, while maintaining existing sales within assigned customers and a given sales territory.
- Develop a daily/weekly call list and maintain information accuracy monthly.
- Review sales reports, and manage accounts receivable collections for customers who purchase on credit.
- Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
- Communicate trends/pricing issues and other unique issues as it relates to sales.
- Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise and services.
- Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends and continuously improve through feedback
Skills
- Proven work experience as a sales representative
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office
- Familiarity with CRM practices along with ability to build productive business professional relationships
- Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
- Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
- Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
- Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs
- Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
- BS/BA degree or equivalent preferred
