What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Account Manager position at Schill Grounds Management?

Our Account Managers are the “FACE” of our company to existing customers. As such, they must have a pleasant demeanor and are charged with looking after the best interests of the client and company. They must be familiar with all aspects of commercial landscape installation and maintenance to include: customer service, design, construction, sales, estimating, technology usage, etc.. The Account Manager oversees all the interaction with the customer and keeps them informed as to all aspects of their property and the landscape.

The Account Manager will prepare and present bid document to the client along with completing the sale they interface with company operation managers, accounting personnel and as well as communicating effectively with subcontractors and vendors as required. They will conduct regular site walks, complete required documentation electronically, resolve any client issues and proactively communicate client issues with the Schill Grounds Management team to be resolved before the client is even aware. They ultimately are charged with delivering our “Start Clean Finish Clean” process.

The Account Manager of Schill Grounds Management will carry out:

  • Company mission and vision statement, leadership principles and core values.
  • All safety standards pertaining to job responsibilities in accordance with Schill Grounds Management policies.
  • All company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook and/or other company documents.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with business development team to identify clients in the portfolio to target for increased sales and market share.
  • Able to manage and grow a book of business.
  • Closes enhancement, subcontractor and irrigation sales and coordinates job specifics with production. Monitors that final result meets client’s expectations.
  • Interfaces with client and ensures that all of client’s concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Takes ownership of the client relationships in their portfolio.
  • Keeps client and property information updated regularly in Aspire.
  • Continually informs and updates client as to job progress.
  • Interfaces with company Operation Managers to ensure client's expectations are met and that jobs are kept on schedule and on budget.
  • Ensures that vendor invoice pricing is accurate and as bid.
  • Conducts required client and non-client walk-throughs, identifies and documents any/ all discrepancies and owns the solution to meet client expectations.
  • Ensure all company quality and safety standards are met.
  • Maintains updated contracts for all clients in their book of business.
  • Assists in accounts receivable collections for their book of business.
  • Completes all required trainings in a timely manner.
  • Works to become a leader in the Account Management team and assists other AMs needed.
  • Attends and contributes positively to the branch operation meetings.
  • This individual must be willing to learn and service mindset with the drive to meet monthly sales goals.
  • Is a positive source of leadership in the branch and assists Branch Manager as needed.

Skill set and Requirements:

  • Knowledge of horticultural practices and a high level of maintenance experience for our region.
  • Plant identification and care; including disease, pruning, and insect ID experience.
  • Customer service experience required; understand how to create a great experience with the client.
  • Proficient use of computers required. (MS Word/Excel required, other software programs preferred)
  • Have a clean criminal record and be able to comply with drug testing as required by clients.
  • Able to conduct a thorough site analysis and quality control audit.
  • Proficient in or able to learn customer relationship management software, and our estimating software, Aspire.
  • Ability to analyze planting, drainage, irrigation, and grading requirements to create proposed solutions.
  • Ability to create, design, estimate, communicate and sell enhancement and subcontractor proposals to clients.
  • Ability to hit the monthly and yearly assigned sales and renewal goals.
  • Possess a high level of understanding on operational and sales business finance – budget hours, material costs, understanding a income statement, how profit is generated, what gross margin and contribution margin are and how they are generated.
  • Possess a high level of skills in written and verbal communication.
  • Self- motivated and goal oriented.
  • A problem solver with quick ability to adapt and be flexible.
  • Degree in Landscape Management or Horticulture, or 5 years of experience with landscape maintenance.
  • Driver’s license is required during appointment to this job classification. The driver’s license must be maintained in good standing as per company insurance standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
