What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Support Specialist position at Schindler?

Review all OEM and available replacement parts information.
Provide feedback to customers for details.
Take customer orders once information is known.
If customer order is not in stock, procures product from outside vendor and sends product to the customer
Provide vendors/suppliers with correct data.
Tracks stock levels.
Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
Build and maintain customers relationships.
Prepares reports of business transactions.
Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
Travel to and attend trade shows, meeting or training.
Maintain and update documentation needed to support function.

Required Education and Experience:
Requires product knowledge—elevators/escalator products, parts and systems; parts sources with elevator/escalator industry. Familiarity with Adams, scandal and other OEM documentation. Competencies required: electron/mechanical aptitude, generate purchase orders for urgent materials, respond to critical needs and maintain commitments, and secure complete and correct information from customers.

LANGUAGE ABILITY
Ability to communicate effectively and interface with all levels within the company from the shop floor to executive management. Professional phone presence is required.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workers. Ability to read and analyze parts documentation and prints. Ability to read and analyze blueprints.
MATH ABILITY
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
MS Word, Excel; SAP, E-mail, Internet surcingle and buying.
