Schnabel Engineering is looking for an experienced Engineering Technician to join our office in Blacksburg, Virginia. Work assignments will often require travel.
Responsibilities include field observation and testing during placement of construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and sprayed-on fireproofing. Responsibilities may also include soil and concrete laboratory testing.
Qualifications for the position include a high school degree and a valid driver’s license. At least one year of experience in construction materials observation and testing is preferred.
Candidates must possess good oral, written, communication, and organizational skills, have an ability to perform rudimentary mathematic computations, and be attentive to detail. An interest in working outdoors on construction sites is also a must.
