POSITION SUMMARY
A Machinist who assists in performing regular maintenance activities on production molds as directed to support the operations and achieves the production schedule.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
PREFERRED EDUCATION: A Completed Technical Degree Program in either Tool & Die Mold Making, Mechanical Technology or Machining Technology
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Four years of servicing & repairing of tooling/plastic injection molds. Experienced in tooling repair and providing machining support in a manufacturing environment.
Equivalent combination of education and experience.

PRIMARY DUTIES
Are the essential job tasks or primary responsibilities that the individual who holds the position must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of an accommodation.
1 Maintain plastic injection molds and equipment are in optimal running condition
2 Perform preventative mold maintenance and mold repair activities
3 Accurately estimate mold repair times
4 Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic repairs and troubleshooting related to tooling/molds
5 Work independently with strong technical knowledge and good communication skills
6 Read and interpret detailed technical drawings and schematics
7 Execute machining requests to drawing, sketches or part samples, when instructed
8 Operate all tool room machinery and equipment and complete final form, fit and function of mold repairs
9 Will assist with mold setups, perform mold removals, reinstall and prepare molds for production startup
10 Identify molding defects on production parts and recommend solutions
11 Assure proper inventory levels of required replacement parts for all tools
12 Following all Lock Out/Tag Out rules and work instructions
13 Participate in corresponding root cause analysis, corrective actions and team problem solving activities
14 Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all your assigned work areas.
15 Responsible for maintaining accurate and timely records of all tool repairs and changes.
16 Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures.
17 Read, use and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools.
18 Keep own and adjacent work area clean.
19 Perform other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned

· Knowledge of CNC Machining
· Experience with Solid Works preferred
· Basic knowledge of the plastic processing and troubleshooting of thermoplastic molds.
· Basic math skills.
· Basic electrical skills
· Basic computer skills.
· Must be mechanically inclined and can use basic hand tools.
· Possess good hand-eye coordination with manual dexterity.
· Repair and perform all necessary preventive maintenance on plastic injection molds and molding related auxiliary equipment related to the mold setup
· Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
· Lock and tag out training completed
· SA forklift training completed.
· MUST be available for OT when needed.
· MUST be able to rotate every 6-7 weeks for on-call schedule.
Physical Requirements
This position requires to be able to access equipment to troubleshoot problems; requires continuous standing, climbing, and bending, kneeling, stooping, and crawling; lifting up to 50lbs. Ability to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or components.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and work in high, precarious places and where the sound and noise levels are loud and distracting. Employee is exposed to work in extreme weather conditions based upon the seasons and required to wear protective equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, bump caps and hearing protection.
