Learning Assistant - Dixon Elementary School
$18.00 (Learning Assistant flat rate of pay)
27 hours/week
The Learning Assistant is responsible for assisting the teaching staff in a variety of both instructional and non instructional tasks which provide learning activities that are appropriate for the students at the secondary level.

- Assist in the planning, gathering and preparation of materials to be used by students in group, individual and learning center and curricular activities.
- Assist students either individually or in groups in various activities, i.e., math, reading, journals, and computers.
- Supervise students when entering/leaving the building, hallways, playgrounds,
- lunchrooms and in other circumstances under the direction of the classroom teacher.
- Assist in the collection and maintenance of data for student assessments and individual portfolios.
- Assist teacher with preparation for parent teacher conferences, staff meetings, other activities and parent/student communications.
- Provide assessments and record keeping.
- Assist in administering and grading of tests and homework assignments.
