What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deli Clerk position at Schuette's Market?
Deli Clerks work in our Deli Department, serving customers at the deli counter and preparing foods for sale in the deli. Deli Clerks are responsible for preparing, slicing, wrapping, weighing, pricing and merchandising the items for sale in the deli. Our Deli Clerks prepare sandwiches, salads, party trays and other cold deli items. They also fry chicken and prepare other hot deli foods.
Deli Clerks are responsible for providing outstanding customer service to all of our customers. We are looking for team members who will greet customers in a friendly and helpful way, who can answer customer questions and make each of our customers feel welcome, appreciated and looked after. We expect each employee to maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to be a team player.
Excellent people skills are required. Must be able to communicate with customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
Must be able to perform basic math computations, such as addition subtraction, and division.
Candidates should be highly motivated with a sense of urgency and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment at all times with all levels of employees. Must be a team player!
Must be able to lift and/or push pull while standing, up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds infrequently. The job requires standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day and the ability to lift, stack and maneuver objects.
Minimum age for employment is 18. Weekend, evening and holiday work will be required.
