SUMMARY
The Driver is responsible for driving company trucks with flatbed trailers and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Deliver and pick up finished aluminum materials and products while providing excellent customer service. Additional responsibilities will be required on the shop floor as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Drive company trucks and vehicles, including but not limited to: non-cdl straight truck
- Understand and ensure consistent compliance with all federal, state and local laws / regulations, and company policies / procedures regarding the FMCSA.
- Perform upkeep on mobile equipment.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
- Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
- Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions.
- Consistently provide prompt and courteous service to customers.
- Professionally communicate to customers and coworkers in a clear and tactful manner.
- Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers and Protects materials from weather, as needed.
- Perform daily pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and reports any safety issues immediately.
- Maintain company equipment inside/out in order to ensure both cleanliness and safety.
- Work overtime as required.
- Must be able to interact in person with coworkers and the public.
- Must be able to handle high stress situations.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 2 years of verifiable related driving experience (required)
- Chauffer's License (required)
- CDL A, or B license with an acceptable driving record and a valid medical card (preferred)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to follow safety procedures for safe vehicle operation.
- Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to demonstrate safe entry, exit, and operation of the vehicle
- Ability to use limbs to operate controls, levers, and gears, such as shifting gears, to drive, position, load, and unload the truck.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Frequently lift, move, or position materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to outdoor climate
