What to Expect:
SUMMARY
The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for supporting the transportation department's daily activities, including dispatching, routing, and tracking for all company and contract drivers to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

- Manages activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking for all company and contract drivers to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
- Provides a high level of customer service to all customers, both external and internal.
- Tracks and communicates transportation assets in partnership with the transportation manager and maintenance department.
- Completes driver ride-along to evaluate and ensure proper performance for all drivers at each facility.
- Responsible for managing sales manager equipment requests and for coordinating delivery with the maintenance department.
- Coordinates equipment maintenance to meet transportation, operations, and production goals.
- Reviews driver’s logs daily.
- Assists in the tracking of KPI goals.
- Provides ongoing recommendations for improvements.
- Monitors transportation staff to ensure compliance with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and federal and state regulations.
- Assist in Training Drivers
- Understands routing system and creates new routing scenarios when needed.
- Understands transportation database, and completes data entry necessary to produce true and accurate reports.
- Maintains time keeping records, DVIR's, routers, fuel taxes and develops cost savings recommendations.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment including a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.
- Occasionally lift and/or move office materials including files and equipment weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the scheduled shift.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience dispatching/ routing equipment preferred
- Knowledge of truck maintenance is preferable but not required.
