LOCATION
This position may be performed remotely. We are targeting candidates in the Omaha, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, and Phoenix areas. This role is a heavy travel role outside of Omaha. The successful candidate can expect to travel to franchisee stores and assigned markets at least 40%-60% of the time; travel may increase beyond 60% as the region grows. This includes travel to Omaha, NE, where Scooters Coffee is headquartered.
DESCRIPTION
The Field Marketing Manager is responsible for the alignment, activation, and execution of Scooters Coffee local and brand marketing programs for new and existing franchise and company stores to drive sales and profitable traffic growth. This position is accountable for executing the plan to achieve monthly and annual sales, traffic, and EBITDA goals within a geographic area encompassing a range of 200 to 300 stores across a multi-state territory. The scope of the role includes leading the planning and execution of individual grand openings, pilot, and field tests, and activating sustained local, DMA/Co-ops, regional or system wide marketing activities as part of the annual marketing calendar plans.
This role reports to the Director of Field Marketing. Key outcomes for this role are delivering annual and long-term brand KPIs of AUV growth, comparable sales, traffic and EBIDTA. The role requires a persuasive communicator with a strong grasp of the marketing process, digital and social media, and a creative and strategic thinker comfortable influencing and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Be the primary source of contact and subject matter expert for franchisees and company operators for all marketing calendar events, promotions and local programs- Provide clear communication of system-wide and local marketing initiatives to align franchisees/company operators to gain alignment on local and national marketing programs to ensure participation in the marketing initiatives at the store level
- Build strong collaborative relationships with franchisees, company operators, Franchise Business Consultants, marketing team, and other cross functional teams
- Collaborate with Franchise Business Consultants and FPA team to build sales and traffic forecasts for each annual planning period
- Conduct site level local trade area audits and regular field visits for new and existing stores, to identify and evaluate key locational attributes such as traffic generators, target markets, competitive threats, local media opportunities, unique community characteristics, promotional ties ins and other new areas of business potential
- Partner with real estate site selection team to access local trade area analytics re: demographics, segmentation, etc.
- Analyze local market information to identify and recommend new local store marketing opportunities
- Guide the implementation and evaluation of local or brand pilot test programs to assess effective local marketing strategies, tactics, and tools
- Educate and guide franchisees on available tools and resources to help activate their business (SCRC, Ad Library, Promotion Bank, Apparel Store, Marketing Shop, etc.)
- Oversee the planning and execution of new store marketing plans, including all kickoff calls, pre-opening, grand opening and post opening marketing for new openings
- Maintain knowledge and tracking of existing and emerging competitors in assigned markets to assess impact on franchisees
- Build, implement and oversee the competitive intrusion and blunting efforts
- Work with agency partners to plan, manage, and oversee the tracking and performance of digital and traditional (non-digital) media channels, including local outdoor and direct mail
- Monitor, analyze and track the daily, weekly monthly and annual performance and KPIs for all marketing initiatives, suggest any plan modifications or course corrections
- Prepare and present post analysis of campaign results for DMAs and region wide results
- Build and activate marketing plans for underperforming stores
- Advise franchisees on local donation and community give-back requests
- Launch and manage the formation/regular quarterly cadence of DMA marketing co-ops, encompassing communications by-laws, contributions, voting process, meeting agenda, meeting content, budgets, minutes, plan execution and reporting
- Collaborate with Brand Strategy, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain on retail pricing strategy, communication, and implementation across the organization
- Provide input and contribute the field marketing and franchisee perspective to influence the strategies, tactics, products, and programs that the marketing team develops
- Manage and reconcile grand opening, media, creative, test and other local store marketing expenditures to monthly budget plan
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business, MBA preferred
- At least 4 - 6 years of field marketing experience in the restaurant or retail industry at the corporate or agency level; preference for working in a franchise support business model
- Experience with the marketing mix (4 Ps), understands marketing principals, strategy
- Excellent presentation, organization, and project management skills
- Sound strategic and critical thinking acumen and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate across a wide variety of work styles and personalities in a franchised and cross-functional environment
- Data-driven mindset and ability to leverage analysis to make actionable recommendations to key stakeholders
- Ability to manage people, as well as deadlines and milestones across multiple simultaneous projects
- Inquisitive nature and a passion for learning and solving problems
- Knowledge of media planning and buying process
- Experience working with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and project management tools including SharePoint and Smartsheets
- Strong organizational and planning skillset
- Ability to travel a minimum of 30 to 50% of the time, and this could be more depending on needs, openings, and store growth
- Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening
