The Janitor plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all individuals within the facility. This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks that ensure the overall hygiene and functionality of the premises. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial work, preferably in a commercial setting.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in an early childhood setting.
- Familiarity with stainless steel cleaning techniques and products.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing various areas of the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of restrooms, classrooms, and common areas, ensuring they meet health and safety standards.
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and materials as needed to ensure efficient operations.
- Adhere to safety procedures and protocols while using cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas. Polishes fixtures, metal work, surfaces and trim.
- Sweeps and mops floors. Vacuums rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture.
- Dust furniture and equipment.
- Washes windows, walls, door panels, sink, toilets and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets and transports trash/waste to disposal area.
- Replenish bathroom and break room supplies.
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities and you must be able to work under no supervision.
- Specific duties may vary depending on the list of specifications required by the client.
- Lock doors, turns out lights, and checks alarms where necessary.
- You will work night shifts, after 7 pm. 3-4 hours nightly.
- Total hours per week will be 12-15 hours
- Safety training and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
