We are looking for "Entry Level" candidates to join our Forge/Warehouse Team. Successful candidates will receive a comprehensive training program with opportunities to advance, develop skills and experience in forging. Forge/Warehouse Flex Responsibilities:
- Unload material from trucks and railroad cars using overhead cranes and high-capacity forklifts.
- Work from shop orders, packing slips, bills of lading, material transfer sheets and instructions from Group Leader and Supervisor
- Receive, verify, stage and stock all incoming material.
- Weigh and measure material to verify dimensions, assign material identification for the inventory control system and store in appropriate location.
- Pull materials requested and deliver to internal customers.
- Re-rack unused material according to designated guidelines, calculate material dimensions and weights if necessary and record transfer.
- Weigh, load and accurately record all scrap material transfers.
- Verify and ensure material identity for loading furnace.
- Coordinate pre-forging load with Blacksmith or appropriate forge personnel.
- Load, unload and operate furnace to maintain production schedule for forging cycles and cooling cycles in accordance with forge practice manual.
- Grind material defects with hand grinder or overhead grinder, load and secure material.
- Use welder/grinder to repair tools as needed
- Remove scrap from the press pits, shovel, and unload scrap in the appropriate dumpster according to metal type.
- Unload cooling pits and transport parts to designated areas.
Qualifications:
- As an employee-owner, you must have the ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift; additional overtime hours will be required based on business need.
- Ability to analyze, interpret and follow both oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, analyze situations and conditions, implement solutions and work under deadline pressure.
- Excellent attendance and safety history
- Basic computer skills, blueprint reading and knowledge of simple math concepts
- Ability to maintain a valid forklift operating certificate.
- Experience working in a Heavy Industrial Environment a plus
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
- Ability to work in outdoor setting in various weather conditions
- Ability to stand, bend and lift weights to 64 lbs.
- Manufacturing environment with heat, noise, dust, and vibration
