The Certified Diabetes Educator educates and supports people affected by diabetes to understand and manage the condition. Performs professional nursing, consultation, and educational services for persons with diabetes and provides community health education. Develops curriculum on health, including research and production and acts as a health care consultant by providing information on the management of diabetes for patients of all ages from infancy to geriatrics.
Applicant must become certified Diabetic Educator within two years of employment.
