What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Laborer position at Scrap Processors Inc.?

Our company is seeking a reliable and hard-working general laborer to join our team. We are a well-established scrap metal recycling company with a history of over 75 years of operation. As a valued member of our team, you will play a vital role in our daily operations.

Responsibilities include :

  • Load, unload, and sort materials into designated areas within the warehouse
  • Operate machinery, such as forklifts and skid loaders (Training is provided)
  • Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Perform other manual labor tasks throughout the day (indoors / outdoors)
  • Customer assistance to help unload and purchase metals

Requirements include :

  • Must have ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to get dirty
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small but mighty team
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors
  • Communication with customers and team members to ensure effective coordination of daily operations
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Preferred but not required some knowledge of Scrap Metal
  • Must be able to interact with customers and vendors in a friendly and courteous manner.

    Benefits Include :

  • 19 - $22 per hour (negotiable based on previous experience and / or references)
  • Regular Monday - Friday hours. Occasional Saturday’s
  • Paid weekly.
  • Consistent shifts.
  • Full-time. 40 hours per week.
  • Overtime opportunities available
  • Benefit Package available
