Medical Assistant - UroGyn - Anderson Medical Pavilion

This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm. Located in La Jolla at the Anderson Medical Pavilion with travel to other sites 1-2 times per week (generally Encinitas and Hillcrest). This is an MA/PSR hybrid role, so you will work both front and back office duties regularly.

What you'll do:

• Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
• Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice
• Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
• Collecting patient data in person and by phone
• Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
• Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
• Scheduling of appointments and procedures
• Complete and accurate message taking
• Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
• Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
• Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman

Required Certification/Registration:

• BLS by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

• One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient setting
