- Xray certification (or in the process of obtaining one)
Must be trustworthy and reliable; a positive attitude is highly desirable.
Tuesdays, Thursdays, alternating Fridays/Saturdays.
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during various dental procedures and ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients. Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, ensuring cleanliness and organization
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and taking X-rays
- Take and record patient medical histories and vital signs
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Perform dental receptionist duties, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient records
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Assist with dental lab tasks, including pouring impressions and trimming models
- Perform basic dental laboratory procedures, such as fabricating temporary crowns and taking impressions
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy
Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Proficiency in dental practice management software
- Strong knowledge of dental assisting procedures and techniques
- Familiarity with medical coding for dental procedures
- Ability to take accurate X-rays and maintain proper safety precautions
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment
- Basic understanding of dental receptionist duties, such as appointment scheduling and record management
