Kitting Associate

Sea Bags is hiring a Kitting Associate to join their dynamic team in Portland and South Portland, ME! Sea Bagsis a local company that recycles sails into fashionable and durable tote bags and accessories. Their mission is sustainability in their products, creating jobs and being good stewards to their community, the state of Maine, and our Earth.

Sea Bags is searching fora detail oriented, fast paced and energetic Kitting Associate to become part of their production team. This position is responsible for coordinating and assembling materials for production. The ideal candidate will be a team player with strong communication skills, can understand and articulate processes and instructions orally and in writing, and work at a fast pace with accuracy.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in stocking raw material and housekeeping.
• Kit sail panel based on specifications and design.
• Maintains 99% accuracy of average production on assembly line.
• Perform tasks as assigned from time to time by any manager.
• Participate in inventory count periodically.
• Responsible to locate, identify and verify, pull and count sail panels required for production kits.
• Meet production levels, output, cycle times, work in process and quality standards to meet the requirements necessary to achieve on time delivery, quality and overall shipment goals.
• Maintain a safe, clean, compliant and organized manufacturing environment, while ensuring compliance with all safety requirements.

Required Job Qualifications:

• Be a team player and jump in and support any needs in the company when called upon.
• Strong attention to detail including continuously checking for completeness of requirements and components.
• Strong ability to communicate and articulate processes and instructions both orally and in writing.
• Solid interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Deadline driven and goal oriented; comfortable working in an environment with production targets.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team and independently.
• Ability to work at a fast pace with high accuracy and minimal supervision.
• Availability to work a minimum of 40 hours a week.
• Physical ability to lift and stand for extended periods, and to move throughout the warehouse, which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above.
