About Seattle Paint Pick Up

Seattle Paint Pick Up is a growing, family-owned business dedicated to providing convenient and eco-friendly paint and hazardous waste disposal services throughout the Seattle and King County area. Our mission is to protect our local environment by diverting waste from landfills and responsibly recycling materials. We're looking for a passionate and skilled individual to join our team and become a key player in our growth.

The Role: A Pivotal Opportunity

We are seeking a Paint Recycling & Production Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for sustainability and a knack for paint. You will be an integral part of our operation, responsible for the hands-on process of giving new life to the paint we collect.

This is not a traditional full-time role, but an invitation to get in on the ground floor of an exciting upstart company. For the right person, this will quickly evolve into a full-time, leadership position as we expand our operations.

Flexible Hours & Schedule

We understand that our ideal candidate may have other work or life commitments. This is why we are offering a flexible schedule. We are looking for approximately 10-15 hours per week to start, and those hours can be worked around your existing daily schedule. If you are the right person for this role and are passionate about joining our team and the mission of paint recycling, we are willing to work with you to find a schedule that fits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Paint Sorting & Categorization: Organize and categorize incoming paint from our pickup operations.

  • Paint Mixing & Creation: Mix, blend, and match salvaged paint to create new, high-quality, recycled paint products.

  • Color Matching: Use your knowledge of color theory to accurately match and create specific paint colors.

  • Quality Control: Ensure the consistency and quality of all recycled paint batches.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and operate paint mixing and processing equipment.

  • Waste Handling: Safely and responsibly handle various household hazardous waste materials in compliance with all safety protocols.

  • Documentation: Accurately track and document materials used and paint batches produced.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience is Key: You have a proven background in mixing paint, color matching, and creating paint products. Experience in a retail paint store, manufacturing, or a similar environment is highly preferred.

  • A Mind for Recycling: You have an understanding of or a strong interest in the process of recycling paint and giving new purpose to materials.

  • Detail-Oriented: You have a meticulous eye for detail, especially when it comes to color and consistency.

  • Independent & Proactive: You are a self-starter who can take initiative and work effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Safety Conscious: You have knowledge of and commitment to safety procedures for handling hazardous materials.

  • The Right Attitude: You are looking for a job with major upside and want to be a foundational part of a growing company.
