SUMMARY

The Lead Facilities Assistant is responsible in assisting the Facility Manager in the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist the Facilities Manager in all facility improvements, repairs, and maintenance. Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
    • Assist in BMS adjustments
    • Change HVAC filters
    • HVAC diagnosis and repair
    • Assist in adjusting lighting schedules
    • Lighting diagnosis and repair
    • Small plumbing repairs
    • Minor building repairs
    • Modular office re-works
    • Painting
    • Assist in pool and spa repairs
  • Work closely with and report to the Facility Manager on a regular basis
  • Assist in documenting processes and keeping accurate maintenance records
  • Assist the Facility Manager in coordinating maintenance and repair work
  • Provide support for event preparation and tear down
  • Serve as a support resource for staff to move boxes, file cabinets, furniture, etc.
  • Work as a team with other Seahawk employees and FGI employees to assist in non-football events
  • This position serves as a jack of all trades with the ability to work in multiple facets and areas
  • Other duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required
  • Minimum one year facilities maintenance/custodial experience or equivalent
  • Must have the ability to provide support in scheduling and executing preventative maintenance tasks, reacting to maintenance emergencies and monitoring building systems
  • Must have sufficient background in facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and life safety. Specific experience should include but not be limited to:
    • Experience in preventative maintenance of HVAC equipment
    • Experience in minor electrical repair
    • Experience in small plumbing repair
    • Experience operating Building Management Systems (BMS)
    • Experience operating lighting control systems
  • Must have a current driver’s license
  • Proficiency in Office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work under pressure, recognize problems and find solutions
  • Ability to multitask and handle a variety of day-to-day tasks
  • Ability to work well with other staff members
  • Ability to work long, extended hours as dictated by events and schedule. This will include weekends and holidays
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Possess strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time and have the ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • May be exposed to varied weather conditions
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers
  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Required to stand, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
  • This job requires many hours of standing and walking
  • The visual requirements include: the ability to focus, peripheral vision and close vision
