Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting children to schools while ensuring a positive and secure travel experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to customer service, and the ability to manage behavior effectively while on the bus.
Duties
- Operate a bus or paratransit vehicle safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Ensure the safety of passengers during transit by performing pre-trip inspections and maintaining the vehicle in good working condition.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing support as needed, especially for children and seniors.
- Communicate effectively with passengers regarding routes, schedules, and any changes during transit.
- Manage passenger behavior to ensure a safe and respectful environment on the bus.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, including passenger counts and any incidents that occur during transit.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license with appropriate endorsements for bus driving.
- Experience in bus driving or commercial driving preferred; school bus driving experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable.
- Experience working with children is beneficial; knowledge of childcare practices is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks is an advantage.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively.
- Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to providing a positive experience for all passengers.
