Due to the prohibitively expensive cost of living in Silicon Valley and the economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, hunger is at an all-time high. About the Position

The Regional Program Manager position is responsible for the management of food distribution programs that ensure ongoing nutritional support for low-income individuals and families. In the region assigned, the Regional Program Manager is responsible for excellent execution of all food distributions, excellent relationships with the local partners providing support through food distributions, active management of the volunteers that staff these distributions, and the delivery of a best in-class client experience. This job typically requires incumbent to be working in the field a minimum of 40% of the time. Position includes supervision of one direct report, a Regional Program Coordinator. Position is based out of San Mateo County.

Responsibilities

• Manage staff, volunteers, agency partners, and logistics for smooth operation of all food distributions in your region
• Be the subject expert and representative to help achieve positive outcomes that meet community needs in one of eight sub-regions in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.
• Develop internal and external relationships to effectively facilitate advocacy to meet the needs of agency partners, clients, and volunteers.
• Strategize, implement, and support program initiatives that align with organizational objectives
• Develop and implement program assessment procedures such as monitor visits and regional planning for evaluation and improvement
• Maintain organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance
• Evaluate and generate reports for management and interested parties
• Identify opportunities and challenges to be addressed, including development of process improvements and solutions
• Lead projects utilizing the DACI framework as part of project management

The ideal candidate will possess the following professional qualifications:

• Microsoft Office emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce, Smartsheet and Zoom.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comfort and experience with working with people of diverse ethnicities and cognitive styles.
• Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field is preferred; equivalent directly-related work experience may be substituted.
• Two or more years of applicable work experiences is required; People management experience is highly desirable (volunteer or paid staff).
