The Interior Design Specialist will report to the President.
Job OverviewThe Interior Design Specialist will be responsible for designing kitchen, bath, and surface color and product solutions for a variety of project spaces, re-models and new construction in a home center environment. This will be in a mixture of showroom and retail space.Responsibilities and Duties- Consult with clients on a desired project, re-model or new build. Including presenting product options and assisting in product selections.
- Prepare and present proposed designs and price estimates to clients.
- Consult with customers in paint department regarding product and color selections.
- Assist staff with mixing and preparing customer paint orders.
- Finalize customer product orders for sold projects and timeline for product needs.
- Place product orders with vendors and participate in maintaining the order stream.
- Inspect product receipts for damage, accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate the delivery of products received for sold projects.
- All other duties assigned.
Experience: A minimum of (1) – (3) years of experience is required. However, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Retail and home improvement knowledge
- Paint color matching and mixing abilities
- Experience with Epicor Eagle 2020 design
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of building materials desirable.
- Basic use of computer and office equipment including Microsoft: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
- Ability to talk and/or hear
- Perform repetitive hand motions, ie typing
