PURPOSE:
To facilitate the day-to-day function of the BSA/AML Compliance Department and ensure that SECU and the institutions we service are current in regard to all Bank Secrecy Act requirements.
DUTIES:
Carry out requirements of SECU's Bank Secrecy Programs in a timely manner, which may include: electronic filing of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), electronic filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), review of Monetary Instruments Log (MIL).
Assist affiliated credit unions with their BSA processing as needed.
Assist in preparing for regulatory examinations.
Answer incoming calls.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED required. Strong computer skills required (Microsoft Office, MARGO Teller/Platform, etc). Ability to quickly learn BSA business user software. Analytical research skills are imperative. Working knowledge of branch operations and internal operations departments is desirable. Ability to function independently and with little direct supervision. Must have good organizational skills and attention to detail. Highest level of integrity and objectivity to preserve independence. Strictest level of confidentiality must be adhered to. Must have professional phone etiquette, as well as excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and remain flexible to changing department demands. Dedication to SECU philosophy and work ethic.
Must be able to speak English fluently. Must be able to cooperate and collaborate with co-workers. Must be cordial in all interactions with members and co-workers.
JOB ENVIRONMENT:
Office setting with physical proximity to other employees. Potential for hybrid or fully remote schedule once initial training is completed. Employee will need to be based in the RDU vicinity due to ongoing training and development required.
