Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Unarmed Security Guard Instructor to lead training sessions and certify security personnel. This role involves developing and delivering comprehensive training programs to ensure security staff are well-prepared to maintain safety and prevent loss. The instructor will also be responsible for ensuring all trainees understand legal and safety protocols, including first aid and CPR procedures. Duties
- Develop and deliver engaging training courses for unarmed security personnel, covering topics such as conflict management, CCTV operation, loss prevention, and surveillance techniques.
- Conduct practical assessments to evaluate trainees’ skills in areas such as first aid, CPR, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure all training complies with legal standards and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and certification status.
- Stay updated on current security laws, regulations, and industry trends to incorporate into training modules.
- Provide guidance on effective security procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Assist in the evaluation of potential security staff through testing and interviews when necessary.
- Promote a culture of professionalism, safety, and continuous learning within the security team.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in law enforcement, military service, or private security roles.
- Certification or extensive knowledge in first aid, CPR, and conflict management.
- Strong understanding of surveillance systems such as CCTV and loss prevention techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to instruct diverse groups effectively.
- Ability to develop curriculum content tailored to security personnel training needs.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with a focus on safety compliance and professionalism.
- Prior experience in training or teaching is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must hold relevant certifications or licenses required by NYS DCJS for security instructors. This position is integral to maintaining high standards within our security operations by equipping personnel with essential skills for effective performance in unarmed security roles.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
