We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Habilitation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life. You will work closely with clients in their home and community settings, fostering independence and promoting positive behaviors.
Duties
- Develop and implement individualized habilitation plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Provide direct support in daily living activities, including personal care and household tasks.
- Facilitate social interactions and community engagement for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
- Monitor client progress and document changes in behavior or skill development.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Support clients in developing life skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and self-care routines.
- Provide behavioral health support by implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviors.
- Be a team player as you collaborate and work alongside artists, and instructors to teach job skills, life skills, and social skill development.
- Write reports as needed
Qualifications
- Experience in home community care or direct support roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language is an asset but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in childcare or caregiving roles can be beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A commitment to promoting independence and dignity for individuals with disabilities.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.50 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
