Picks up dirty linen and dirty equipment and cleans equipment from nursing and ancillary units. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background. Job Description: Delivers exchange carts and replenishes linen par areas as scheduled and issues additional linen as requested. Ensures all areas have adequate amounts of linen for patient use. Follows procedure for pushing/pulling linen carts. Communicates any changes increase/decreases in supply needs to Supervisor. Accurately replenishes all exchange carts and par carts using the detailed sheets located on the side of the cart. Confirms linen carts are properly prepared for the next exchange and or for the par carts for the day. Collects soiled linen from laundry chutes and ancillary departments; confirms all soiled linen has been collected and delivered to the holding area for pick-up by Tri-State Laundry as needed. Ensure all areas where equipment will be stored are clearly marked and no cross pollination will occur. Assists with removal of non-usable linens, maxi slides and pillow cleaning equipment. Follow infection control policies and procedures at all times to assist in the prevention and control of infections. Makes sure dirty or dropped linen are placed in hamper. Responsible for ordering bulk linen from Tri-State Laundry. Receiving check-in process must be followed including cart count and entry into PeopleSoft inventory. Cleans shelves and carts monthly. Ensures rotation of linen carts within all linen areas including clean room storage and all par locations. Collects and decontaminates previously used equipment ensuring that cleaning procedures are followed to manufacturer recommended standards. Make sure that all equipment charging is up to date. Assist as needed to deliver supplies ordered by messages. Performs other duties as assigned.
