SEI's Institutional business delivers a range of solutions tailored to clients' investment implementation preferences. As one of the earliest and largest providers of outsourced investment management services, SEI's Outsourced CIO (OCIO) platform supports institutional investors who delegate investment management decisions through a flexible and scalable implementation model.

Join our Institutional team at SEI, where we are seeking a Client Portfolio Manager to support our Defined Benefit and TaftHartley clients. As a market leader, you will help drive thought leadership and advisory engagement, fostering deep relationships with both new and existing clients.

What you'll do:
  • Serve as a Senior Client Relationship Manager working directly with institutional clients.
  • Lead clients through discovery processes that deepen their understanding of their financial position and portfolio objectives.
  • Develop and implement customized institutional account plans.
  • Coordinate crossfunctional teams to deliver SEI's retirement solutions to institutional clients.
  • Directly manage a portfolio of 15 to 20 institutional relationships.
  • Drive client satisfaction by ensuring high-quality service and proactive engagement.
  • Identify and cultivate crosssale and referral opportunities across SEI solutions.

Critical to success in this role are:

  • A broad-based investment background, including knowledge of equity, fixed income, alternative investments, and risk management principles.
  • Understanding of the institutional retirement marketplace and the role of investment portfolios within broader corporate risk frameworks.
  • Demonstrated relationshipmanagement experience with institutional clients.
  • Ability to set and manage client expectations.
  • Skill in synthesizing assetclass positioning across portfolios and distilling insights into a cohesive totalportfolio narrative.

What you bring to the table:
  • Minimum 7 years of investment industry experience.
  • Proven success managing large institutional plan relationships.
  • Specific Taft-Hartley marketplace experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong criticalthinking and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively and professionally in client-facing situations.
  • Strong work ethic and enthusiasm for collaborating as part of a client team.
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.

Attributes we value:
  • CFA designation or advanced degree preferred.
  • Training or academic background in economics or finance strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accountability.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, supported by excellent interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic.

The base salary pay for this role is $150,000 - $250,000 per year.


This position will also be eligible to earn a discretionary bonus each year, subject to company approval.
