Job Description

The Plant Yard Hand / Front-End Loader Operator performs hands-on operation of front-end loaders and other plant equipment in the loading and unloading of concrete aggregate materials at the plant.
Maintains and repairs equipment, mixers, haul trucks and trailers, batch plant, and reclaimer.

Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loader for yard cleanup, loading the bins on the plant, moving reclaimed and recycled material
• Maintain loader in a clean, organized, and safe fashion
• Perform regular preventative maintenance and repairs on ready-mix plant, conveyors, mixers, haul trucks and trailers, loader and reclaimer
• Preform emergency maintenance and troubleshooting on plant, such as replacing parts, changing bags on dust collector, and checking silos
• General cleanup of plant and yard, such as shoveling and sweeping
• Make blocks, clean forms, and organize inventory
• Maintain washout area and assist mixer drivers with truck wash out
• Assist other company employees as needed
• Observe all safety precautions and rules specified by federal, state, and company regulations including but not limited to; wearing proper safety gear, attending safety meetings, and report unsafe conditions and accidents.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Experience working in construction industry preferred
• Solid attendance and punctuality history
• Ability to climb ladders
• Able to follow instructions and resolve problems effectively and quickly
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
