What are the responsibilities and job description for the Key Account Manager - Idaho/Utah position at Semex?

We are currently looking for a Key Account Manager to join our team covering the Idaho and Utah areas. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and increasing sales volume with established key accounts while proactively seeking new business opportunities. You will act as the primary liaison between clients, internal teams, and management, ensuring profitable growth and exceptional service delivery. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who excels in strategic account management, relationship building, and driving sales success.

What You Will Do:

  • Achieve or exceed monthly and yearly revenue targets through strategic account management and sales efforts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within accounts.
  • Align Semex’s genetic solutions with client needs through consultations, presentations, and personalized sales strategies.
  • Identify upselling opportunities and develop strategic plans to maximize revenue.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and services within corporate guidelines.
  • Proactively resolve client issues and leverage internal resources for optimal solutions.
  • Collaborate with sales representatives to enhance client relationships and generate leads.
  • Manage client accounts receivable, ensuring prompt resolution of overdue accounts.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity records and reports.
  • Represent the company professionally at meetings and training programs.

What You Need to be Successful:

  • Proven 5 years outside sales and/or business development experience in the Agriculture, A.I. or Dairy industry.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic mindset with a results-driven approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, dairy herd management software (e.g., Dairy Comp, BoviSync, Animal, PC Dart) and sales reporting tools.
  • Weekly local/ regional travel within Idaho and Utah is required. This could flex but will be roughly 80% of the time.
