Job Summary
Laundry Attendants are responsible for the sorting, washing, drying, and folding of linen. They are integral to our success in offering a beautifully appointed guest room with crisp linens
and fluffy white towels, and a dining experience with wrinkle free, spotless tablecloths and napkins.
Some experience in commercial laundry facilities or hotel housekeeping/laundry departments is helpful but not required. We would be happy to train those willing to learn.
Daily Duties
- Sorts all soiled laundry items: linens, terry, rags, mops, etc.
- Washes, dries, and folds all laundry
- Sorts out stained items to be treated with the appropriate chemicals and identifies permanently soiled items
- Restocks laundry room shelves, carts, storage areas with appropriate levels of linen and terry
- Monitors detergent and other cleaning agents and uses and replaces them as needed
- Ensures cleanliness of the laundry room, machines, and storage areas
- May assist with the transport of soiled/clean linen.
- May assist with cleaning various areas of the hotel and may deliver items to guest rooms as needed
Requirements & Qualifications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Frequent walking
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures
- Ability to see clearly with or without corrective wear
- Have a basic comprehension of spoken and written English
- Ability to work in an environment where the noise level is usually moderate to loud
