Basic Function:
Is responsible for completing repairs on any and all Facilities and/or Manufacturing Equipment:
- Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
- Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
- Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
- Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
- Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Any other duties as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain and operate plant compressed air systems.
- Perform daily rounds to ensure proper equipment operation.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities on all of the above systems and equipment to ensure consistent and reliable operation of all of the above systems.
The individual must be able to Repair/Rebuild/Replace:
Gearboxes, Mill stands, Shafts, Seals, Bearings, Brake assemblies, Hydraulics and Air Cylinders, Lines, Fittings, Elevators, Timing Belts, Safety Windows.
Their duties include fixing machinery, plumbing, conform to all safety standards. Reporting and tracking all maintenance issues, scheduling major repairs to Production machines in a timely manner.
Must be willing to work in cooperation with Management, Department Team leads, Mechanics.
Additional As Needed:
- Maintain and operate hot water boilers and associated equipment.
- Maintain and operate water chillers and associated equipment.
- Maintain and operate heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems and controls of various types.
- Perform project work as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Trade or vocational school graduation preferred.
- Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability.
- Computer skills.
- Physical dexterity.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- 3 Years’ experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician or equivalent Educational Certificate
