What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Designer position at Senesco Marine, LLC?
The Structural Designer must be experienced and have a working knowledge of the fabrication and assembly of steel hull vessels. He/she must be computer literate and skilled in Auto-Cad 3D. He/she must have the ability to understand ABS/Coast Guard rules and regulations. He/she must comply with all safety procedures and guidelines and comply with all company issued policies, procedures, rules and regulations. He/she must also have excellent work ethics including excellent attendance, punctuality and the desire to complete designated work in a timely fashion.
- Requires engineering degree or course studies with previous experience.
- Review and revise structural drawings from the design company to ensure they are both accurate and reflect the yard standards.
- Review/check 3D models of ship modules as provided by lofting company
- Ensure constructability with shipyard capabilities
- Ensure accuracy in accordance with construction drawings
- Verify and modify build strategy as needed
- Communicate with design and lofting company according to developed production schedule.
- Address all change requested from ABS and Coast Guard and work with the owner representative on current issues and change proposals.
- Make and verify all work packages issued to production.
- These packages consist of assembly and build stage drawings, structural shape cut sheets, NC cut sheets and material requirement order sheets. This also includes ensuring that no parts are duplicated or missing.
- Download, update and develop nesting programs for production modules.
- Work with lead men and supervisors to solve discrepancies that arise in the fabrication.
- Design jigs, fixtures and templates for various aspects of the production and maintenance.
- Develop and implement process improvement ideas.
Salary : $90 - $130
