WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
The Executive Director (ED) has primary responsibility for all operational aspects of the community, including maintaining full occupancy, ensuring financial performance and regulatory compliance, and managing associates. The ED oversees all activities related to providing assisted living accommodations (as applicable), ensuring that services are provided in an uncompromising manner and in accordance with the highest standards to meet the goals and mission of SLR and the Community. The ED develops a relationship of trust and caring with residents, families, associates and professional referral sources, and maintains a safe and secure environment for residents, staff and visitors.
  • Responsible for maximizing gross revenue and net operating income of Community by achieving and maintaining full occupancy. Responsible for maximizing gross revenue and net operating income of Community by achieving and maintaining full occupancy.
  • Ensure the financial health and smooth business operation of the community by overseeing the management of all business functions.
  • Develop an in depth working knowledge of assisted living regulations promulgated by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA), other applicable state and local laws, and EOEA-required operational documents of the Community.
  • Lead the team in a way that upholds SLR’s commitment to “Valuing Associates".
  • Participate in Manager-on-Duty (MOD) rotation and oversee participation of all managers for weekend/holiday coverage.

REQUIREMENTS / WHAT WE EXPECT:

  • Five or more years of management experience, preferably in senior healthcare industry, with overall responsibility for occupancy, operations, property management, staffing, budget development and P/L financial reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Leadership skills with the ability to communicate and interact clearly and effectively (written and oral) with residents, families, staff, off-site management, industry professionals, community stakeholders, and others as required
  • Strong customer relations skills with ability to foster a spirit of customer service, teamwork, enthusiasm and cooperation among all associates to create an atmosphere conducive to growth and overall success
  • Acute sense of responsibility and moral integrity. Sincere desire to work with residents and ability to deal with residents under all conditions. Compassion and patience essential. Level-headed and calm in emergencies. Must be willing to perform additional duties of other positions in the Community as needed
  • Strong technology skills with ability to become proficient in systems SLR uses: Google Apps for Work (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Yardi Voyager, Lead-Tracking/Sales Activity Software, Calendar Management/web-based Program Management, Presentation Tools (Printer, Projector, Streaming Media Players), and Social Media (Facebook, LinkedIn)

  • This position requires a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Effective October 2021, SLR associates are required to show proof of COVID vaccination. If medical or religious reasons prevent an associate from providing proof of vaccination, they will be subject to weekly COVID-19 surveillance testing.
