Sentara is hiring a Medication History Technician for Sentara Virginia Beach General, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Shift:  Full Time (40 hours) , rotating shift

Qualifications:
Virginia Pharmacy Technician license REQUIRED

1 year Pharmacy Technician experience REQUIRED

Prior hospital experience preferred.

As an integral member of the healthcare team, the Medication History Technician is responsible for collecting an accurate medication and allergy history for admitted patients in the Emergency Department and/or inpatient units. Information will be obtained by interviewing the patient, family members, retail pharmacy, nursing home documentation/staff, and any other available resources. The accurate home list will be documented in eCare to be used by physicians and other healthcare providers to determine treatment plans and medication orders during admission and post-discharge. The technician will communicate pertinent information (i.e. medications that need to be clarified with the physician and/or other healthcare providers) to the supervising pharmacist. VA OR NC Pharmacy Technician Registration Number 1 Year Pharmacy Technician, pharmacy retail experience preferred.
