What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) position at Sequoia Behavioral Consultants LLC?
Under the direction of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)/Behavior Technician (BT) provides in-home 1:1 interventions for individuals of a neurodiverse population and collaborate with their team to meet the needs of their clients. Requirements
- Able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull at least 20 lbs.
- Have reliable transportation/vehicle.
- Have a current driver’s license.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Provide immunization records.
- Required: at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR/First-Aid Certification preferred.
- Crisis Prevention Certification/Behavior Management training preferred.
Qualifications
- Work experience with a neurodiverse population.
- Able to work with families of diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Strong interpersonal skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong time management skills.
- Strong organization skills.
- Understanding of ABA principles and ability to apply those within a variety of contexts.
Functions/Roles
- Provide direct in-home ABA services by implementing programs for skill acquisition and behavior reduction as directed by their supervisor.
- Collaborate with the training and communication of clients, stakeholders, and staff.
- Display compassion and empathy towards the client and stakeholders.
- Collect and input data on a daily basis.
- Maintain documentation and strict confidentiality.
- Abide by the BACB ethics code while obtaining required certifications.
- For every 10 hours of 1:1 service, the BCBA will supervise for at least 2 hours.
