JOB SUMMARY:
The Representative Payee manages the financial affairs for beneficiaries receiving services from SERV Behavioral Health programs who are incapable of managing their own finances.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides bookkeeping/accounting support to the trust accounts established for consumers for whom SERV is representative payee;
- Prepares and distributes reports on all accounts; maintains and records all deposits and disbursements related to the trust accounts;
- Maintains files of all cash disbursements to clients; secures authorized signatures on requested checks;
- Processes payments for invoices due from consumers, including rent and medical expenses;
- Communicates with guardians, staff and other stakeholders when needed;
- Provides assistance to outside agencies and auditors; gathers necessary account information and documents to support audits;
- Additional duties as assigned or as needed to support departmental or organizational goals.
- Ability to build credibility and trust in interpersonal relationships
- Computer skills including MS Office
- Proficiency with Sage Intaact preferred but not required
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive information
- Verbal and written communications skills
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
- Accuracy, organizational skills, multitasking and attention to detail;
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- 2 years relevant experience preferred;
- Valid driver’s license in state of residence.
