Wash Floor Operator Team Member

Job Summary: Operates semi-automatic washing machines and dryers.

Role Priorities:

• Bring soiled slings from soil room to wash floor.
• Operate Monorail overhead rack system.
• Load and unload washers.
• Manipulate screens, buttons, valves, and/or switches to start and/or stop machines.
• Observe signals on all machines to ensure proper wash without impairment to product.
• Assist in maintaining the machines are working properly by informing Supervisor who will make minor repairs to equipment and requisition major repairs to Maintenance.
• Ensure quality of product and meet daily production quantity goals.
• Work in other areas of department as necessary.

Role Requirements and Essential Job Functions:

• Training period of 3-6 weeks to become familiar with machines, pieces processed, formulas, company standards, and to attain normal efficiency.
• Must have ability to stand and walk all day with strength and dexterity to handle heavy loads and manipulate controls.
• Must be able to push and pull 75lbs or more frequently.
• Also involves twisting, bending, and turning.
• Must be able to assist Supervisor in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, and quality control.
• Repetitive work.
• Ability to read and write English.

• Basic mathematic knowledge- adding/subtracting.

Work Environment:

• Inside typical plant environment- can be hot, humid, and wet; must be aware of safety protocols and avoiding injury from burns from hot cylinders and steam, and to hands from moving parts of machinery and tools.

Education:

•  High school diploma or equivalent.
