Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Installation & Assembly
- Install pipes and fixtures, such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, and dishwashers, for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids.
- Cut, assemble, and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g., electrical wiring).
- Install supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation.
- Maintenance & Repair
- Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues including clogged drains, leaky faucets, and emergency burst pipes.
- Inspect plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts.
- Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets, and other plumbing fixtures.
- Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to all current building codes, installation requirements, and safety standards.
- Perform testing on plumbing systems to check for leaks and ensure proper functioning.
- Estimate time, material, and labor costs for clients and draft accurate quotes.
- Customer Service
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding the nature of the issue and the proposed solution.
- Maintain a clean work environment and treat client property with respect.
- Respond to emergency calls and provide on-call support as needed.
Education & Licensing:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record past 5 years.
- Must pass background check - no felonies, no assault, no theft.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Expert knowledge of water distribution and waste disposal systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
- Proficiency with plumbing tools (wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers, snakes, hydro-jetting equipment).
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work in tight spaces (crawl spaces, attics) and various weather conditions.
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Emergency Response
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience as a Plumber.
- Field Experience: Hands-on experience with both rough-in and trim plumbing phases.
- Specialization: Experience with [Specific Systems, e.g., tankless water heaters, HVAC piping, or medical gas systems] is a plus.
- Track Record: Demonstrated ability to handle complex troubleshooting and emergency repairs efficiently.
